Kundapur, Mar 18: In a tragic icnident, a 52-year-old woman lost her life when she was hit by a Xylo tourist
vehicle while crossing the National Highway at Tekkatte on March 17, Thursday evening. 

The deceased woman is Lakshmi Madhyastha. She was on way to the local milk booth to fetch milk. It is said the Xylo tourist vehicle was over speeding resulting in the mishap. The vehicle had in fact dragged Lakshmi upto nearly one hundred meters away.

Though the vehicle sped forth without stopping, it was chased by locals and stopped near the Railway Bridge at
Madhuvana. The driver was even thrashed by locals before handing him over to the police.

A case has been registered.
